Built by an Aussie who couldn't find straight answers

EVClear exists because buying an EV in Australia is genuinely confusing — and most online resources make it worse. We fix that.

My name is Padi. I'm based in Brisbane and I built EVClear after spending weeks trying to research an EV purchase and coming up empty every time I needed a real answer.

Every site I found was either written for the US or UK market, loaded with affiliate links pushing specific products, or so buried in specs that it was impossible to understand what switching to an EV would actually cost me day-to-day.

I wanted to know three things: How much will I save on fuel? What do I actually qualify for as a Queensland buyer? And does the novated lease FBT exemption apply to me?

Nobody had a clear Australian answer. So I built EVClear — starting with the savings calculator I wished existed, and growing it into a full EV resource built specifically for the Australian market.

What EVClear covers

Every article, guide, and tool on EVClear is written for Australian buyers — with Australian fuel prices, Australian state incentives, Australian electricity costs, and the Australian FBT framework. Not adapted from overseas content. Built from scratch for this market.

The calculator covers 251 EV models across 43 brands available in Australia, calculates fuel savings against your actual driving habits, applies your state's current incentives, and shows the full novated lease FBT saving by income bracket.

Three things we never compromise on

🚫
No sponsored content
No manufacturer pays to appear in our articles or calculator. Every recommendation is based on specs, price, and value — not who's paying us.
🇦🇺
Australia-first
Every piece of content on EVClear is written specifically for the Australian market. Australian prices, Australian incentives, Australian driving conditions.
📊
Real numbers only
We show you what an EV actually costs after every saving is factored in — not manufacturer marketing figures. If the numbers don't stack up, we say so.
